Debt-free dateMay 2029

Understanding this calculator

A payoff plan becomes real when it has a date. This planner runs your full debt list month by month — minimums on everything, your extra aimed at one target at a time, freed-up payments rolling forward — and returns the calendar month each balance dies and the month you're done entirely.

Put the final date somewhere you'll see it. Then notice how it moves when you nudge the extra payment: the distance between 'someday' and a date you can circle is usually smaller than people expect.

Assumptions and methodology

  • Monthly simulation in avalanche order (highest APR first): interest accrues, minimums are paid, the extra targets one debt, and cleared minimums roll into the next.
  • Dates are projected from today at one-month granularity, assuming fixed APRs and no new borrowing.

Common questions

Can I see snowball order instead?

The Snowball vs. Avalanche comparison shows both methods' timelines and interest side by side; this planner uses avalanche for the date because it's never slower in total.
